ANNOUNCEMENTS [ * = new item]

  • *T he pastors came back from CM&A Midwest District meeting where the president of the CM&A spoke to us.  He gave us a challenge to have our churches be informed on the great things that are happening in the CM&A.  Please check out the website www.cmalliance.org or read a copy of the Alliance Life magazine found in the foyer .
  • We need volunteers for this Tuesday morning’s Chicago Chinese Church Pastors’ Prayer meeting at WCAC. Please contact Pastor Ma.

  • This year’s VBS will take place on the week of June 16-20.

ENGLISH MINISTRIES  

  • * Next week in worship, our preacher will be Dr. Vincent Bacote, professor of theology at Wheaton College.

YOUTH MINISTRIES 

    • * Taiwan Mission Trip – The application for the mission trip is due today (May 4, Sunday).  Please talk to Pastor Ben if you have any questions about the trip.
    • *Bible Discussion Group – This coming Saturday May 10, we will come together and dig into God’s Word together.
    • T-Shirt Design Contest – The youth group is designing a T-Shirt for this year.  If you would like to submit a design, please contact Pastor Ben.

MANDARIN MINISTRIES

  • The new Adult Sunday school (May to July) will have three classes: Seekers’ Class by Mrs. Lee, The Gospel of Mathew by Shyae-Cheng & Foley, and Minor prophets of the Old Testament by Pastor Lee and Cheng-Sung. We encourage everybody to attend Sunday school to get equipped and blessed by the grace of God.
  • Starting from June, we will have membership classes on the first Sunday after the worship for three consecutive Sundays. Please sign up with Pastor Lee if you are interested.
  • 5/4 after church lunch, there will be an ushers’ training meeting in the basement. Please mark your calendars.
  • *Tea Time service between 9:30am and 11:00am worship services need you to sign up to help. You can either call Roger Wu or sign up directly on the sign-up sheet posted on the kitchen door.
  • *Please pray fervently for Steve Huang (Just diagnosed with colon cancer), Yea-Shin Twu’s continued treatment, and Felicia Liu’s mother is improving but still needs your prayers.
  • *5/8 (10:30am) Evergreen Fellowship at church. Mrs. Lee will be speaking about The Art of Relationship between Three Generation under the Same Roof. We invite you to join us.

*CANTONESE MINISTRIES

  • * We welcome last Sunday’s new comers Jun-quan Zhou and Zheng-Yu Zhong.

  • *Please pray for Pastor Ma’s new sermon series on Philippians. Please preview God’s word before the sermon.
  • In order to support our gospel outreach, we will have the following sermon series: 5/4 “A Special Blessing” (lunch available); 5/11 “Eight Blessings” (Mother’s Day) . Please pray for the services.
  • *Chee-Chiew Lee will be teaching June to August Adult Sunday School on the book of Song of Solomon. Please join to get equipped.
  • 5/11(Sun) 11:00am Mother’s Day gospel Sunday worship. Mrs. Ma will be speaking “ Eight Blessings ”, please pray the message, invitation, and follow-up.
  • Aldersgate Methodist church parking lot is too small for our congregation lately. Please consider using the office parking lot near WCAC or Wheaten Park District parking lot.
  • *Thank God for leading last Saturday’s outreach caring ministry. 70 participated with 50 from Cantonese congregation. We came in contact with 124 families, explained the gospel to 16 individuals, 6 expressed interest, and several families came to Sunday’s Mandarin and Cantonese services.
