Wheaton Chinese Alliance Church (WCAC) is an evangelical, Christ-centered church located in the western suburbs of Chicago. Our church consists of about three hundred members, reflecting a diverse cultural heritage including Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mainland China. We have immigrants and those who were born here. We minister to all generations. We have three worship services of about 100 each in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. More than twenty small groups and fellowships meet regularly. Our youth ministry cares for the needs and spiritual growth of teenagers.
Our vision is to be an evangelical Christ-centered church that effectively ministers to the entire family, irrespective of age, social status, language, or nation of origin. As we are led by the Holy Spirit and faithfully apply the teaching of Scripture, WCAC members strive together to spread the gospel and to grow into full spiritual maturity, so as to serve His kingdom and honor and glorify God alone.
As one church with three language-based services, it is our mission to understand and love one another with unity in heart, mind, and purpose. We desire to be one, as God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one, to show the world that the things that divide have been torn down by Christ’s death and resurrection. Each member is given different spiritual gifts, so only by working together can the whole church truly function and serve effectively as intended by God.
It is our mission to reach out to non-believers with the truth and compassion of the gospel. Christ Jesus spoke spiritual truth and performed miraculous acts of healing and care throughout his earthly ministry. His death was the ultimate act of love and sacrifice for us all, reconciling us to God by His blood on the cross. In the same way, we are committed to being His witness, both by sharing the gospel and by showing the love of Christ to a lost and hurting world.
It is our mission to teach and to make disciples of Christ. It is not only important that we learn the Word of God, but also put into practice His teaching and walk by the Spirit. We desire to be believers who exhibit holiness, fruit of the spirit, and other godly character. It is through discipleship that we develop people who will serve and lead the church with humility and conviction.
